Dental Emergencies!

Aug 18, 2015

If you think you’re experiencing a dental emergency, you probably are! If your emergency is very severe (including lacerations and blood loss!), please visit the hospital. But if you think your teeth may just need dental assistance immediately, please come into Lifetime Smiles! We accept emergency dental walk-ins! However, a lot of our emergency clients are unsure whether their specific dental situation is enough of an emergency. In short, just give us a call and we’ll let you know! That said, here are a few dental emergencies that you ought to stop in for:

Loss of an Adult Tooth

If you’ve lost a tooth, you’ll need to get to a dentist quickly. Some teeth can be saved, but time is valuable! Come in right away if you’ve had an accident, and you’ve lost a tooth.

Tooth Loose, or Misaligned

If you’re tooth is loose, nearly lossed, or severely misaligned due to an accident, you’ll want to come in and receive emergency dental care. Realigning a tooth quickly may save the tooth. Tooth roots are very sensitive, and you’ll need quick attention if your tooth is loose or misaligned.

Chipped, Fractured, and Cracked Teeth

If you’ve chipped, fractured, or cracked a tooth (or several teeth!) get attention immediately. Cracked teeth can be extremely painful, and some teeth can be repaired! And prosthetic attachments can be added to chipped teeth

Tooth Pain

If you’re suffering from a severe toothache, it’s likely there’s a significant issue. Visit a dentist immediately to cure the pain!

If you’re experiencing the following emergencies, you’ll need to go to a hospital instead! Please be mindful that we can’t aid in all oral issues!

Torn and Injured Tissue

If you’ve got lacerations in or around your mouth, you’ll want to visit a hospital. Hospital services are more aptly equipped to treat lacerations.

Profuse Bleeding

Go to a hospital immediately if you’re bleeding profusely. Blood loss is a serious danger and will require emergency services. Do not go to an emergency dentist.
